Base Price vs. the Vehicle You Take Home
How Much Is a New Terrain in Pomeroy?
There are two useful answers: where the Terrain lineup starts and what an actual vehicle at the dealership is listed for. Keeping those numbers separate makes shopping much less confusing.
The manufacturer's base price is a reference point. A Terrain in inventory may add AWD, appearance packages, a different paint color, or other equipment. Current discounts and vehicle-specific circumstances can also affect the advertised price.
One local example is a 2027 Terrain Elevation AWD listed at $36,778, compared with its listed MSRP of $37,699. That is the price of a specific equipped vehicle, not the starting price for every Terrain.
There is also a featured 2026 Elevation AWD advertised at $29,053. That vehicle is marked as a courtesy transportation unit, and its advertised price includes a service-loaner discount. Ask about its current mileage, prior use, condition, and warranty details before comparing it with another new listing.

Three Trims. Different Priorities.
Compare 2026 and 2027 Terrain Trim Prices
Both model years offer Elevation, AT4, and Denali. Rather than treating them as three versions of the same purchase, think about where you want your budget to go: everyday comfort, off-road-oriented equipment, or premium cabin features.

Terrain Elevation: Cover the Everyday Essentials
Elevation is worth a close look if your priorities include comfortable daily driving without automatically moving to the top trim. Both model years include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a 15-inch diagonal infotainment system, and an 11-inch diagonal Driver Information Center.
Before adding packages, sit in the vehicle and work through your normal routine. Check the screen, the seat position, and the space for the things you carry. Then decide which available features genuinely belong on your wish list.
Terrain AT4: Pay Attention to What Is Underneath
AT4 brings more than a different look. GMC highlights a lifted ride height, all-terrain tires, a front skid plate with a steel underbody shield, and an AT4-exclusive Terrain drive mode.
If that equipment matches the places you plan to drive, compare AT4 with similarly equipped alternatives. If most of your driving is on paved roads, consider whether another trim better matches your priorities.
Terrain Denali: Look for Comfort You Will Notice
Denali focuses on details you experience from the driver's seat. GMC lists heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, HD Surround Vision, and a Rear Camera Mirror among its features for both model years.
If you are already adding comfort and convenience equipment to another trim, compare the configured prices. Denali's value to you depends on how much of that equipment you actually want.
Features vary by model year and configuration. Review the selected vehicle's window sticker. Driver assistance features do not replace attentive driving and have limitations. Read the Owner's Manual for details.

What MPG Does the New Terrain Get?
The featured 2026 and 2027 Terrain Elevation AWD listings on this page each display the following fuel-economy figures:
24
City MPG
28
Highway MPG
25
Combined MPG
Those numbers describe the two specific AWD Elevation listings—not every Terrain. GMC's 2027 model page lists EPA-estimated highway figures of 28 MPG for Elevation and 26 MPG for AT4 and Denali.
Compare the fuel-economy labels of the exact vehicles on your shortlist. Your mix of short trips around Pomeroy, longer highway drives, weather, and driving habits will affect the mileage you see in everyday use.
Featured vehicle figures are as displayed on dealership listings reviewed November 6, 2026. Confirm the official EPA label on the selected vehicle. Actual mileage varies.
Should You Buy a 2026 or a 2027 Terrain?
Start with the two vehicles in front of you, not an assumption that one model year is automatically the better buy. A lower advertised price may come with different equipment or, as with our featured 2026, a different prior-use history.
Both model years offer a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and seating for up to five. The Terrain is a two-row SUV, so it is a practical place to start if you do not need a third row.
Bring your everyday cargo along when possible: a stroller, work bag, or weekend gear. Check the rear-seat space and loading area, then compare your preferred vehicles with written, itemized quotes.
A useful question for our team: “What am I getting for the difference in price?” That keeps the conversation focused on equipment, condition, current offers, and your actual needs.
